The table was not set, the kitchen was at least six degrees hotter than the rest of the house and Leia was bustling around the stove.

Two pots were covered and simmering on the stove top, the oven had a covered roast in it. Rolls were cooling on the counter, along with two pies. The whole place smelled of savory, spice and fresh baked bread. It was gearing up to a full holiday meal, in Leia speak though that meant more than enough for everyone and far too much for anyone.

If Leia did anything, she overdid it. It was a trait she'd been gifted by both her parents. Luke somehow managed to get the calm, serene, and thoughtful genes. Which was probably why he wasn't the one fretting over if the potatoes were going to be too thin or the gravy too lumpy.

She knew she wasn't due to have the entire family there for a while, and Han was helping with something. She just had to make sure everything came together.

"It could be, I wouldn't judge you." She wasn't a prude or something like that, but maybe she might have been the slightest bit concerned about her own lack of experience, and maybe some extremely unwarranted jealousy.

She hadn't even really known him before today, what could she possibly be jealous about? It was ridiculous and she suspected it was more in her mind than anything.

"Then tonight you'll have a nice place to sleep, no bedrolls on the ground. They have real showers here, I heard people talking about them. Actual hot water showers, not just sonics." Which was a bit of a treat to anyone who had made long space travel in small ships.

"Chewie, can you get Han to his quarters?" A glorified room but honestly it would allow him at least some measure of comfort to recover in. "Lando, if you're still interested in stay with us, I could use a general to lead." She was walking briskly and the group had little choice but to keep up with her. She had been moving like that since they escaped Jabba all the way up to the 'Falcon, no one was given a break except Luke when he had to leave for a promise he hadn't told her about.

"Sure Leia, my business is in a, shall we say, holding pattern for the moment and I'm free to pursue other interests." The man smiled and inclined his head in something like a bow.

Leia laughed. "Some positions are already filled Lando, you can discuss the specifics of what we can offer you with Mon Mothma when we regroup with the others." Smooth as he was Leia had two things going for her, one: she knew Lando much better now and two: she was completely in love with someone else.

A ragged bark from the middle of the Falcon told Leia that the wookie had managed to get Han settled in but was not willing to play nursemaid as well. "Ok, I'll look after him, can you and Lando get us back to the fleet?" Another growl, this one an affirmative and the big shaggy wookie walked forward to the cockpit, hooking an arm around Lando and pulling him along. Either Han had said something or Chewie just didn't like to leave Lando alone with people.

After securing the landing ramp Leia moved back to Han's room, expecting to find him trying to do anything but rest and drink fluids as he was supposed to. "Hey hot shot, you are supposed to be laying down until the symptoms recede."

Normally he would have made some quip or other and she’d be humorously annoyed, but this time Han was so sincere that she couldn’t help but believe that yes was absolutely the right answer. She doubted many, save Luke and their friends, who would have agreed, she and Han came from entirely different worlds in more than just the literal sense. She had been raised and trained in duty and loyalty and service, she’d been given every possible advantage and raised in a loving devoted home. Han had lacked those luxuries and securities and she tried to ensure he had them now.

She loved his eyes, hazel was suited to him, he was more than just any one thing and the deeper you looked into him the more you saw. Right now those eyes showed him allowing himself to be proud and happy and vulnerable, a surge of emotion welled in her and she drew him close. Well as much as someone much more diminutive can with a larger body. Leia stroked his hair and kissed his cheek. She was here and she had no plans on being anywhere else. “I can never show you Alderaan, but maybe someday I could show you Naboo. A woman from there trained me when I was young and I visited and stayed there often. It was like Alderaan in many ways, a beautiful place.” If a bit clean and proper for Han’s taste. A place they could both relax and just breathe.
